Introduction

The Faculty of Economics aims to train graduates in the fields of economics, applied economics, general economics, business economics, financial management and marketing management who are capable of contributing inventively to social and business environment. To that end, it aims to form graduates with the knowledge, insight, skills, inventive problem-solving capabilities and attitudes by providing a broad professional education.

Mission

The Faculty of Economics aims to train graduates in the fields of economics, applied economics, general economics, business economics, financial management and marketing management who are capable of contributing inventively to social and business environment. To that end, it aims to form graduates with the knowledge, insight, skills, inventive problem-solving capabilities and attitudes by providing a broad professional education.

The research policy of the Faculty gives priority to fundamental and applied scientific research which can contribute to stimulating the economic and managerial performance of organizations and social processes on a broad scale.

The Faculty intends to be strongly embedded in the local and regional society in which it operates by maintaining relations with the local socio-economic stakeholders.

It aims to be an internationally oriented faculty, therefore it pursues an active international policy and co-operates with other universities in the field of research, education and services.

The aim is to form a dynamic and stimulating environment for its students and employees and to offer all possibilities to develop themselves. Therefore it attaches particular importance to the participation of all members in faculty decision-making.

General

The qualification from this department provides students with knowledge in management and in business administration, and with organization skills to serve in public and in private sector.

The system of attendance is full time. A detailed information about the courses offered in the semester schedules are included in the academic plan. The list of departmental compulsory and elective courses are all listed in details in the academic catalogue, including the theoretical lessons, credits, equivalent credits according to ECTS credit system, and workload of each course. List of courses offered each semester from our department and academic catalogue correlate together. The scope of this department is to fulfil the need for qualified members in this field, and to prepare skilled people to work in different managing sectors.

The program of Management department is structured around a group of technical courses, which include basic tools of quantitative methods, accounting, and economic theory, and a core of management and leadership courses that integrate culture, language, and ethics, to enable future business leaders to meet the challenges of today’s global environment.
